In mid-August of 2011, Very Good Days! made plans to send their very first letter and gift to Stereopony. The occasion was Stereopony member AIMI’s birthday, which would be on September 4. She would be turning 21 this year. The idea of sending a gift to Aimi was proposed by rsniteblaze but was managed by Elsuke, who hand-picked the gift and card, hand-wrote all of the VGD members’ messages, and packaged and mailed everything to Japan. TAAU assisted in selecting the gift, and Arcluna and Hirotana confirmed the Stereopony fan mail address. Many of the active VGD members participated in the project by leaving a short birthday message for AIMI that would be written on the card.
The gift we sent AIMI was a Fossil necklace with a guitar charm. The birthday card we sent AIMI had a picture of a cat holding an ice cream cone with seven large ice cream scoops on the front cover. It was an appropriate selection since AIMI’s favorite animal (according to her profile) is a cat and Stereopony has uploaded pictures of themselves eating ice cream plenty of times.
AIMI received our gift a few days after her birthday. She wrote an entry on her personal blog about fan mail she received for her birthday on September 9. Among the images she uploaded were a picture of the card and gift still in its packaging, a picture of the card and some of its messages, and a picture of AIMI wearing the necklace we had sent her.
